Educational Visits

Primary School (key stages 1 and 2)

For groups up to 25 people (including adult helpers)

Catanger Llamas can offer an educational visit that brings together all aspects of the curriculum.

  • Learning about llamas, where they are from and what they are used for in South America
  • Looking at llama fibre processing, from raw fibre to finished product
  • Meeting the llamas and looking at their features and what makes them different from other animals
  • Instruction on handling and leading a llama
  • Going on a mini trek around the farm
  • Meeting the mothers and their babies

Duration of visit 2 hours

The mini on farm trek entails one llama for every three children and must be accompanied by one adult.

We can also cater for preschool children (3-5 years), itinerary is still the same but instead of mini trek they do a woodland walk.

Visitors centre includes 3 toilets with hot water hand washing areas, indoor and outdoor eating facilities where you are welcome to have a picnic after your visit, car parking next to centre with full disabled access.

Kids party 2

“Thank you for a fantastic day at Catanger Llama Farm. The children have been so excited and have not stopped talking about the visit. There are lots of jealous staff in school, now I have come back soooooo chilledddddddd.

Thank you again for a fantastic day – a day I hope the children will remember for the rest of their lives.”

Spring Field Primary School – Northampton

“Catanger Llamas recently paid a visit to a Scout Camp in Oxfordshire, spending the day
taking short walks around the campsite with our Scouts. The Scouts had a whale
of a time – everyone was desperate to have a go, and the activity was the
highlight of the weekend for many of them!
We were incredibly grateful to Catanger Llamas for providing us with such a
fantastic activity; they were very reasonably priced, and incredibly friendly
and professional throughout. They were a joy to have at the event, and we will
definitely be using them again in the future.”
